Local SEO Services in Canada That Put Your Business in the Map Pack

For most local searches the three map results take more clicks than everything below them. We optimise your Google Business Profile, fix your citations, build the review flow and create the local pages that make you the obvious choice nearby.

  • Free local visibility check
  • Map pack movement usually within weeks
  • Reviews handled, not just requested

What is local SEO and how is it different?

Local SEO targets the map pack and location based searches rather than the national organic results. It runs on different signals: proximity, your Google Business Profile, review volume and quality, and citation consistency across the web.

This matters because the two are ranked separately. A business can sit at position four in organic results and be invisible in the map pack directly above it, which is where most of the phone calls come from. Fixing the second is usually faster and cheaper than fixing the first.

The signals are also more actionable. Google publishes what it uses for local ranking in broad terms: relevance, distance and prominence. Distance you cannot change. Relevance comes from your profile categories, services and the content on your site. Prominence comes from reviews, citations, links and how well known you are locally.

That means most local businesses have obvious untapped ground. An incomplete profile, the wrong primary category, thirty reviews when the competitor has two hundred, or no page on the site that mentions the neighbourhoods they actually serve.

What is included in local SEO services?

Profile optimisation and management, citation building and cleanup, review generation and response, local landing pages, local link building, and monthly reporting on map pack positions and call volume.

Multi location businesses get the same scope applied per location, with the reporting split so you can see which branch is winning.

How quickly can local SEO produce calls?

Profile fixes often move rankings within two to four weeks, which is the fastest movement available anywhere in SEO. Citation and review work compounds over two to three months. Local pages take longer, usually six to twelve weeks.

  1. Week 1 to 2

    Audit and fix the profile

Category, services, description, photos and hours. Profile problems are the most common cause of poor map pack visibility, and also the quickest thing to correct.

  2. Week 2 to 5

    Clean the citations

Find every listing that has your business wrong, correct it at the source, remove duplicates, and add the directories that actually carry weight in Canada.

  3. Week 3 onward

    Start the review flow

An automated request after each completed job, sent at the right moment, with a response written for every review that arrives. Volume and recency both count.

  4. Month 2 to 3

    Build the local pages

Real pages for the areas you serve, with local specifics rather than a template with the city name changed. These support both the map pack and organic local searches.

What actually decides who ranks in the map pack?

Proximity to the searcher, relevance of your profile and site to the query, and prominence built from reviews, citations and links. You cannot change proximity, which is why the other two carry so much weight.

Proximity means results vary by where the searcher is standing. A single reported ranking position is misleading, so we report on a grid across your service area instead.

Why not just use a citation building service?

Bulk citation services submit your details to hundreds of low value directories and stop there. They do not fix your profile, generate reviews, respond to them, or build the local content that actually supports the ranking.

How is local SEO reported?

A ranking grid across your service area, not a single position, plus calls, direction requests and profile actions from Google. That combination shows whether visibility turned into contact.

Grid reporting matters because local rank changes with where the searcher is standing. Showing one position from one point flatters some businesses and unfairly punishes others, so we map it properly across the area you actually serve.

How long does local SEO take to work?

Profile optimisation often shows movement in two to four weeks, which makes it the fastest work in SEO. Citation cleanup and review building compound over two to three months. Local landing pages behave like normal organic SEO and take six to twelve weeks.

Do I need a physical address to rank locally?

You need a verified address, but service area businesses can hide it and still rank across the areas they serve. What you cannot do is use a virtual office or a mailbox, which is a common shortcut that gets profiles suspended.

How many reviews do I need?

Enough to be credible against your competitors, so look at what the businesses ranking above you have. Recency matters as much as total count. Forty reviews with the newest from last week beats two hundred where the last one was in 2023.

What should I do about a bad review?

Respond calmly and publicly, take the detail private, and keep collecting new ones. A single one star among many is barely noticed and often adds credibility. What damages a business is a defensive public reply, or a profile where the negative review is the only recent one.

Can I rank in a city where I do not have an office?

In the map pack, rarely, because proximity is a hard signal. In organic local results, yes, with a properly written service area page. Anyone promising map pack rankings in a city you have no presence in is describing something that usually ends in a suspension.

Does posting on Google Business Profile help?

Modestly for ranking, more for conversion. Posts show activity and give a searcher a reason to choose you at the moment they are comparing three options. It is a small consistent lever rather than a big one, and it costs very little to keep running.

I have multiple locations. How does that work?

Each location needs its own profile, its own citations and its own page on the site with genuinely different content. The most common failure with multi location businesses is one page repeated with the city name swapped, which search engines treat as thin duplication.
