Logo Design Services in Canada That Work at Every Size You Need
A logo has to survive a favicon, an embroidered shirt, a dark background and a sign viewed from across a street. We design a suite that handles all of it, test it at real sizes, and hand over every file with exclusive ownership.
- Free review of your current logo
- Full suite, not one file
- Exclusive ownership in writing
What should a logo design project actually deliver?
Not one image. A suite: primary, horizontal, stacked and icon versions, monochrome and reversed, favicon and app icon, with colour values, minimum sizes and clear space rules written down.
The most common problem we are asked to fix is not an ugly logo. It is a logo that only exists in one form. It was designed wide, so it becomes illegible as a square profile picture. It has three colours and a gradient, so it costs more to print and cannot be embroidered. It has fine detail that disappears below forty pixels.
None of that is visible when you approve the design on a white background at full size, which is exactly when most logos get approved. So we test during design rather than after: shrunk to favicon size, reversed on dark, in one colour, and mocked up on the things you will actually put it on.
The other thing that matters is ownership. A logo bought from a marketplace is often non exclusive, meaning the same mark can be sold to somebody else, potentially in your category. Everything we design is exclusive and transferred to you in writing.
- Primary, horizontal, stacked and icon only versions
- Monochrome and reversed versions for real world use
- Favicon and app icon tested at actual size
- Vector source files, exclusive and yours in writing

How does the logo design process work?
Discovery, then two or three distinct directions shown in context, then refinement of the chosen one, then the full suite and handover. Two to three weeks for most projects.
- Days 1 to 4
Discovery
What the business does, who it is for, and what your market already looks like. The competitor visual audit matters as much as your preferences, because looking different is half the job.
- Days 4 to 10
Directions
Two or three distinct concepts, each shown in context on a sign, a card and a screen rather than floating on white. Context is what makes the choice obvious.
- Days 10 to 15
Refine
The chosen direction developed properly: spacing, weight, optical adjustments, and testing at every size it will be used at. Two revision rounds included.
- Days 15 to 20
Build the suite
All variants produced, colour values fixed for screen and print, usage rules written, and the whole package delivered with ownership transferred.
What files do you receive?
Vector source files, every logo variant, colour values for screen and print, favicon and app icon exports, plus a usage sheet covering minimum size, clear space and what not to do with it.
Delivered in one organised folder. Everything is yours outright with no licence and no ongoing fee.

How much does logo design cost in Canada?
Professional logo design generally runs from 1,200 to 3,500 dollars for a full suite. Marketplace logos cost far less and usually deliver one file with non exclusive rights, which is where the saving comes from.
| Option | Typical price | What you get | Ownership |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace or generator | $20 to $300 | One or two files, no system | Often non exclusive |
| Freelance designer | $400 to $1,500 | Varies widely by designer | Usually exclusive, check the terms |
| Logo suite with us | $1,200 to $2,500 | Full variant set, colour system, usage rules | Exclusive, transferred in writing |
| Logo plus brand basics | $2,500 to $4,000 | Above plus type, palette and key applications | Exclusive, transferred in writing |
| Full brand identity | $3,500 to $9,000 | Positioning, full system, brand guide, applications | Exclusive, transferred in writing |
If you are pre revenue and need something to launch with, a cheap logo now and a proper one later is a perfectly sensible sequence. We will say so.
What is wrong with a cheap logo?
Often nothing, at the start. The problems appear later: no variants for real use, illegibility at small sizes, uncertain exclusivity, and a mark that cannot be extended into a brand system without starting again.
| Comparison point | Designed with us | Marketplace or AI generated |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusivity | Exclusive, transferred in writing | Frequently non exclusive or unclear |
| Variants | Every version real use requires | One file, occasionally two |
| Small size | Tested at favicon and app icon scale | Detail disappears below 40 pixels |
| Print ready | Vector, Pantone values, single colour version | Usually raster only |
| Category fit | Designed against what competitors already look like | Generated from a template pool |
| Cost | Higher | Much lower, which genuinely matters early |
When is it worth redesigning a logo?
When it fails in practical use, when the business has changed underneath it, or when you never owned proper files in the first place. Simply disliking it is a weaker reason than most people assume.
It does not work small
If the mark is unreadable as a favicon or a profile picture, it is failing in the places it appears most. Often fixable without a full redesign.
You have no vector file
Very common. Every sign writer, printer and embroiderer will ask for one. Rebuilding the existing mark properly costs a fraction of starting again.
The business has changed
A name change, a new market, or a real shift in what you sell. When the logo describes something you no longer do, it works against you.
It looks like your competitors
If three businesses in your city share the same visual language, none of you are memorable. This is the case where a genuine redesign earns its cost.
Ownership is unclear
Bought from a marketplace or made by somebody who has moved on, with no written transfer. Worth resolving before you invest further in the brand.
Not a good reason
Being bored of it. Recognition takes years to build and can be thrown away in an afternoon. If the mark works, build a system around it instead.
How do revisions and ownership work?
Two revision rounds are included, and exclusive ownership transfers on final payment. There is no licence, no ongoing fee and no restriction on how you use the mark afterwards.
Presenting a small number of considered directions rather than twenty options is deliberate. Twenty produces a committee compromise. Two or three shown properly in context produce a decision people can still defend two years later.

Logo design questions
The free review looks at your current mark and tells you whether it needs replacing or just rebuilding properly.
Ask us directlyHow long does logo design take?
Two to three weeks for a full suite. The design work itself is quicker. What sets the pace is decision making, particularly where several people need to agree, which is why we present a small number of clear directions rather than many similar ones.
Do I own the logo?
Exclusively, transferred in writing on final payment. You get the vector source files, every export format, and the right to use, modify or license it however you want. Nothing is retained and there is nothing to buy back later.
Can you trademark it for me?
We do not file trademarks and recommend a trademark lawyer for anything you intend to protect. We do run availability checks during design so we are not developing something with an obvious conflict in your category.
What if I do not like any of the concepts?
It is uncommon, because discovery and the competitor audit narrow the field before design starts. Where it happens, an additional round is included. We would rather redo the direction than talk you into something you will dislike every day for five years.
Should the logo include what we do?
Rarely a good idea. A mark that spells out the service ages badly as the business changes, and pictorial literalism is what makes most small business logos look dated. What matters far more is that it is distinctive and works at every size.
Can you redraw our existing logo instead?
Yes, and it is often the right answer. Plenty of businesses have a mark with real recognition that was simply never built properly: no vector file, no variants, inconsistent colours. Rebuilding that costs much less than starting again and keeps the equity you have.
Do you design the rest of the brand too?
Yes, as a separate scope. A logo alone leaves you deciding type, colour rules and layout on every piece of material. Most businesses need at least the basics around it, and we can quote both so you can see the difference.
