What does social media post design cover?
Every visual format a social channel needs: single feed images, carousels, story frames, reel and video covers, promotional graphics and profile assets. Each one sized correctly and designed to be readable at thumbnail scale.
The most common design failure on social is not ugliness, it is illegibility. A layout that looks fine on a designer screen becomes unreadable at the size it will actually be viewed, in a feed, on a phone, in about a second. Type too small, contrast too low, and four ideas competing where there should be one.
So we design for the real conditions. One idea per graphic, text large enough to read while scrolling, contrast that survives a bright screen outdoors, and a visual system consistent enough that people recognise your posts before they read the handle.
The templates matter as much as the designs themselves. A batch of thirty graphics runs out. A set of templates your team can edit means you keep producing consistent work indefinitely, and only come back to us when you need something new rather than for every post.
- Designed to be readable at feed size, not at full screen
- One idea per graphic instead of four competing ones
- Every placement sized correctly rather than cropped from one file
- Editable templates so production continues without us

Which formats do you design?
All of the ones that matter for a business account. Each is designed at native size rather than exported from one master file, because cropping a square into a story is how text ends up under the interface.
Feed graphics
Single image posts in square and portrait. The workhorse format, designed to stop a scroll and communicate one thing clearly.
Carousels
Multi slide sequences for teaching, listing or storytelling. The highest saved format on most business accounts.
Story frames
Full height designs with safe zones respected so nothing important sits under the profile bar or the reply box.
Reel and video covers
The still frame that decides whether your video gets watched, and what your grid looks like to a first time visitor.
Promotional graphics
Offers, events, launches and seasonal campaigns, built to a consistent format so they are quick to produce next time.
Profile assets
Cover images, highlight covers, profile pictures and link in bio pages, sized for every platform correctly.
How does the design process work?
Brand review, then a small concept set to settle direction, then production of the full batch, then template handover. Direction is agreed on three designs rather than after thirty are finished.
- Days 1 to 3
Brand review
We work from your existing brand, or extend it where the guidelines do not cover social. Most brand books stop at a logo and two colours, which is not enough to design consistently from.
- Days 3 to 7
Concepts
Three designs across different formats to settle the visual direction. Cheap to change at this point, expensive once the full batch is produced.
- Week 2 to 3
Production
The full batch designed against the approved direction, with copy either supplied by you or written by us. Delivered in every size the placement requires.
- Week 3
Templates and handover
Editable templates in Canva or Figma, plus a short guide covering the rules: type sizes, spacing, what to change and what to leave alone.
How much does social media post design cost?
Individual designs run from around 45 dollars, batches bring that down considerably, and a template pack with brand rules is usually the better value for teams that post regularly.
| Option | Typical price | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single design | $45 to $90 each | One graphic, one format, two revisions | Occasional one off needs |
| Monthly batch | $400 to $900 a month | 12 to 20 designs across formats | Businesses posting consistently |
| Template pack | $800 to $1,800 one time | 10 to 15 editable templates plus a usage guide | Teams who post themselves |
| Carousel set | $180 to $350 each | Full multi slide sequence, designed and written | Educational and thought leadership content |
| Full brand social kit | $1,500 to $3,000 | Templates, profile assets, highlight covers, guide | A brand refresh or a new account launch |
Copywriting can be included or you can supply it. Two revision rounds are included on every option.
Why not just use Canva templates?
Canva is genuinely good and we hand over Canva templates ourselves. The difference is that a stock template is built for a generic business, so it takes your brand off the design rather than putting it on.
| Comparison point | Custom designed for you | Stock Canva template |
|---|---|---|
| Brand fit | Built from your colours, type and visual language | Your logo dropped onto somebody else’s design |
| Recognition | People recognise your posts before reading the handle | Looks like any other business using the same template |
| Legibility | Tested at feed size on a real phone | Designed to look good in the template preview |
| Formats | Every placement designed at native size | One size, cropped for everything else |
| Ongoing use | Templates built on your system, easy to extend | Restarts from scratch when the template gets tired |
| Cost | Higher up front | Very low, which is a real advantage starting out |

Post design questions
Ask for a free sample design. It is the fastest way to judge whether the style suits your brand.
Ask us directlyDo you write the captions too?
If you want. Copywriting is a separate line so you can supply your own or have us write them. Most clients start by supplying rough notes and having us shape them, which keeps the voice authentic while saving the time.
What if we do not have brand guidelines?
Common, and not a problem. We build a lightweight social brand system from what you already have: your logo, your site and whatever you like. It covers type, colour, spacing and layout rules, which is what design consistency actually needs.
How many designs do I need a month?
Fewer than most people assume. Three strong posts a week is a sustainable rhythm for most businesses, so twelve to fifteen designs a month covers it. Volume matters much less than consistency and whether anyone saves or shares what you post.
Can you match the style we already use?
Yes. Where an existing style is working we extend it rather than replace it. Where it is inconsistent, which is more common, we show you what a tightened version looks like before committing to the whole batch.
Do you design for LinkedIn and Pinterest too?
Yes, and both need different treatment. LinkedIn graphics carry more text and are often read on desktop. Pinterest is tall, keyword driven and has a much longer life than a feed post. Designing one square file for all three is why most brands underperform on the other two.
How fast is turnaround?
A single design is usually two to three days. A monthly batch runs on a schedule where designs are ready a week before the month starts. Urgent single requests are usually possible within a day where there is capacity.
